The truth is that there are many thousands of people affected by collisions every year due to the negligence of others. It’s possible for the victims of these accidents and their families to seek out compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and other financial impacts that the injuries they’ve suffered have caused.
To understand how many people suffer from collisions and accidents, it’s important to know the statistics. Every year, over 37,000 people die in road crashes. These individuals may be lost, but they aren’t the only ones affected by their deaths. On top of these deaths, there are another 2.35 million people who are injured or disabled in collisions every year. Road collisions cost the United States around $230.6 billion every year in medical costs, lost wages, and other factors, too, affecting tax payers and the economy. On average, that’s $820 lost per person in the United States.
Internationally, it’s interesting that Americans are still affected by motor vehicle accidents. In fact, road crashes are the greatest cause of death to health Americans abroad. Around 1,600 kids under the age of 15 are killed in road accidents, and around 8,000 people between 16 and 20 will be killed in car accidents, too.
