The car accident occurred when the Melrose woman driving the Acura turned left onto Main Street from Lynde Street. Her car was hit in the middle by the man driving the Saab. She almost collided with the residential building at 340 Main Street, but slid into the Dunkin Donuts parking lot instead and stopped between the building and the fence.
Both drivers were transported to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for treatment after the crash. There were no passengers in either car during the accident. Police did not suspect either driver of conducting their vehicles under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The Saab was extensively damaged on its front end and as a result of the impact, the side and front airbags deployed. The Acura’s damages where on the left side, beginning in the middle of the car and extending to the rear. Its airbags also deployed during the accident. Both cars were towed from the scene of the accident.
Though this incident appears to be simply an accident and no one’s fault, there were injuries involved. The costs of treating an injury sustained during a car accident and for the losses experienced during the recovery process can be significant. A lawyer can provide assistance in trying to figure out which party is liable for compensation for the personal injuries that were a result of the accident.
