The scene of the motor vehicle accident was the 600 block of Crescent Street in Brockton’s east side on a Saturday afternoon. No injuries were reported from the initial car accident. The Ford driver was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of possible injuries. The 26-year-old patron suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the sergeant, and he was taken to Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital for treatment. The restaurant closed briefly following the wreck, but the owner expected business to fully resume the next day.
Police issued a marked lanes citation against the Ford driver. There was no reported intention to pursue criminal charges, but the sergeant said that the man’s driver’s license may be suspended by the Registry of Motor Vehicles resulting from an immediate threat revocation.
An injury suffered at the hands of a negligent driver can cause much more than pain and the cost of medical treatment. An auto accident may also result in the long-term damage of a neck or brain injury, emotional pain and suffering and lost wages. A determination of insurance liability by an accident investigation may help in pursuing compensation for these damages, but it is not necessary when pursuing a claim in civil court. An attorney with experience pursuing personal injury claims may be able to help car accident injury victims avoid the risk of financial hardship.
